Paper copy of the Gremista Gansey, Inspired by a garment in the collection of the Shetland Textile Museum this jumper is a great introduction to Gansey style knitting. Knit in Aran weight and from sizes 24-37", This gansey is knitted in the round to the armholes, then the front and back are worked separately back and forth. The shoulders are joined and the sleeves are worked from the cuff up and sewn into place.

Sizing

24 (27, 30, 33, 37) inches/ 60 (68, 76, 83.5, 94) cm

Yarn

Jamieson and Smith Worsted Aran 61m/66 yards per 50g ball

7 (9, 10, 12, 13) x 50g balls.

You will also need:

3.5mm needles for ribs

4mm needles

Double pointed or circular needles can be used.

Halfway through this lovely pattern and so far so good. i‘m using a Aran weight wool from the Isle of Coll with 4.5mm needles and it works out perfectly sizewise.

Lovely pattern apart from the sizing stopping at 37 inches.

Thank you for the feedback, the sizing is clearly described on the product page before you purchase. The pattern was designed as a child/young adult pattern which is why it stops at 37".
